Youth Membership
The Big Game Club Committee began the Youth Big Game Club program in March of 1991. The CBH/SAA Youth Big Game Club’s purpose is to involve the next generation of bowhunters, ensuring the sport’s longevity by generating more members in the club and hopefully sparking a more family oriented sport for all to enjoy.
The Youth Big Game Club shall be open to all CBH members under the age of seventeen (17) years. To qualify for the club the applicant must legally take at least one of the species recognized by the Big Game Club. The animal does not have to meet the minimum score requirements for the record book. If, however, the animal does meet the minimum score required, it will count toward the applicant’s regular membership. Regular membership is four species, of which at least two, must qualify with minimum scores for the record book.
The applicant shall retain Youth Big Game Club membership as long as he/she is a CBH/SAA member of good standing, until his/her seventeenth (17) birthday or until the applicant qualifies for regular membership in the Big Game Club.
The applicant will be required to fill out a Youth Big Game Application for each species, along with a kill report and a fair chase affidavit. They also need to provide a photograph of the animal and a $5.00 recording fee for each entry. (If the animal qualifies for inclusion in the record book by meeting or exceeding the established minimum scores, then a total of $10.00 for each entry meeting this requirement must accompany the application). There is no yearly fee or initiation fee for the Youth Big Game Club.
The Youth Big Game Club shall include, but not be limited to these recommendations.
