Flu-Flu Arrows

A flu-flu arrow is a type of arrow specifically designed to travel a short distance. Such arrows are particularly useful when shooting at aerial or elevated targets where the arrow must be restricted on how far it will travel. Another advantages of these arrows is that they are easier to find if you miss the intended target.

A flu-flu is an arrow with fletching normally made of four (4), or more, sections of uncut feathers glued to the back end of the arrow shaft, in front of nock, and can be in line with the shaft. Or it can be (2 or more) spiraled around the back end if the arrow shaft in front of the nock. In either case, the excessive fletching serves to create more drag and slow the arrow down rapidly.

See 2022-2023 "California Waterfowl Upland Game Public Use" for more information about Bow Hunting Waterfowl.

See 507. Provisions Related To The Taking Of Anything IN THE AIR… PERCHED or INFLIGHT.

Please read all Section 502 Regulations before entering into the field.

As defined in Section 502:

(a) Authorized Method

(1) Bow and Arrows with flu-flu fletching
